Nick-Names

Every musical instrumentalist has a unique nickname. A name that makes them stand out from everyone else. A name that shows they are musical instrumentalist without you asking. A name that makes them feel like a pro. A name that makes them feel proud about being a musical instrumentalist.

I don't personally have one(not all instrumentalist have nicknames) but I have come across instrumentalist with crazy and funny nicknames and I realised there is a certain pattern to giving yourself a nickname as an instrumentalist.

There is a golden rule that must be followed : To have a unique nickname the instrument you play must come before and after your name( Lol I guess you all know that).

Here is an example or an idea on different instruments and different examples of unique nicknames:

Today I am going to share with you my top 10 crazy drum stick ideas. And as we all know drum sticks are sticks specially made for drumming and without it there is no beat, no sound, no music, nothing. We are literally screwed without the drum sticks. HOW DO YOU GET THE GIGS

I have read a lot of articles on getting Gigs and how "networking" should be the number one medium at which you get yourself the Gigs you want. Meeting new people, working with the big guys in the music industry, doing free stuff to get the attention and trust of this guys, playing free gigs and trying as much as possible to create different connections are some of the networking moves needed to get the Gigs. And as you all know there are two ways to market a product : (1) word of mouth (2) social media/online marketing. Same applies here in getting a Gig as a drummer. Networking like I listed above gets you the "word of mouth"(people connecting you and your brand with other people. People saying good stuff about you and how amazing you are on the drum kit etc) and when used by the right people (influencers) can get you the gigs you want. I HEARD THE DRUMS TALK

Today was a good day for me and I feel so good and proud about myself and I guess you all don't wanna know why but I'm still gonna say it.    * I practised for hours today (doesn't happen often)    * I learned new rudiments, rolls, fills, and dynamics and also applied them on the drum kit in a day (yeah I'm a genius)    * I got a call back from the last Gig I had (one of the biggest Gig ever)    * I'm gonna be on tour with one of the biggest artiste in Nigeria (I dreamed about it Lol, still waiting for it to become a reality. #Positive)    *And I finally showed gratitude to the universe for making me a drummer.
