Drum Miracles
Few days ago I came across a short quote that kind of inspired this post, and it says....... "miracles happens where we least expect it". And I'm sure you'd all agree with me. We've all had that "miracle" moment.
Moments where the things we've always wanted, the things we prayed and hoped would manifest, doesn't Show up. It could be a major Gig, a relationship, a job or a contract. Etc. Tired of waiting, tired of getting our hopes high, we stop giving a Damn. And at the point of not really giving a Damn about that want or desire, something happens. All of a sudden the things we had hoped and prayed for begin to manifest, begins to show up when we least expect it.
And as professional drummers, I am pretty sure we've all had drum related moments like this too.
So I'm gonna be sharing with you some of my own personal experience. And as a drummer, I'll be sharing few good moments from the numerous moments that really shaped me as a drummer.
Good Moments :
*Getting a major Gig when I least expected, after a long Gig drought. ---------- (I nailed the Gig, in case you're wondering).
*Going for a small Gig but getting paid like it's a Big Gig. ---------- (I can remember not being sure if I was gonna get paid. I was surprised when they did. I also learnt not to take the little things for granted).
*Getting all my major Gigs (life changing Gigs) from the guy I met at a small Gig. A Gig I almost refused to play coz I was told I wasn't gonna get paid. ---------- (I still don't play at small Gigs, especially if you're not paying. Lol).
*First time travelling the world as a drummer. ---------- (I really don't know how to explain the feeling coz it's not just about travelling the world but travelling the world doing what I love the most).
*I least expected to fall in love on a tour. ---------- (Falling in love with myself, my drum kit, my rhythms, my dynamics and my job as a drummer isn't as easy as you think. Lol).
So there you have it. My "drum miracles where you least expect it" moments. Crazy right? Lol.
And like I said earlier, I know we've all the "drum miracle" moments. So, feel free to share your moment(s) and also what it felt like.
